What You Will Explore on the Dumaguete City Xplore Tour
Bell Tower: A Symbol of Dumaguete’s Spanish-Era Roots
Your journey begins at the historic Bell Tower, one of Dumaguete’s most recognizable landmarks. Built during the Spanish colonial period, it stands as a reminder of the city’s early religious and defensive history. This stop sets the historical tone for the entire Dumaguete City Xplore Tour.
Quezon Park: The Heart of City Life
Located at the city center, Quezon Park is a calm green space surrounded by heritage buildings and government offices. It serves as a social hub where locals gather, rest, and connect. Observing daily life here offers insight into Dumaguete’s strong sense of community.
St. Catherine of Alexandria Cathedral
A cornerstone of Dumaguete’s spiritual and architectural history, this centuries-old cathedral showcases classic Spanish-era design and remains an active place of worship. Visiting the cathedral provides a deeper understanding of faith’s role in shaping local culture.

National Museum Dumaguete
The National Museum branch in Dumaguete offers curated exhibits that highlight the shared heritage of Negros Oriental and Siquijor. Archaeology, art, and regional history come together to provide cultural depth and historical continuity within the Dumaguete City Xplore Tour.
Rizal Boulevard Promenade

No city experience is complete without a walk along Rizal Boulevard. This iconic seaside promenade captures Dumaguete’s relaxed coastal lifestyle, with ocean views, sea breezes, and a lively yet unhurried atmosphere. It is one of the most beloved public spaces in the city.
Silliman University: An Academic Legacy
The tour concludes at Silliman University, the oldest American-founded university in Asia. Known for its tree-lined campus and colonial architecture, Silliman has shaped Dumaguete’s intellectual and cultural identity for over a century.
Occasional Side Trips

A simple side trip turned into a core memory as our guests tasted dragon fruit for the very first time at the local Dumaguete fruit market. Fresh, sweet, vibrant—and shared with family, laughter, and a local guide who knows exactly where to go.
This is what real travel looks like: unscripted moments, local flavors, and cultural immersion beyond the usual itinerary.
The Meaning Behind the City of Gentle People
Dumaguete’s nickname, City of Gentle People, is not a slogan—it is a lived reality. Visitors often remark on the courtesy, warmth, and approachability of residents. The city’s walkability, safety, and strong community spirit make it popular among tourists, expatriates, and retirees.
The Dumaguete City Xplore Tour is designed to help you experience this gentleness firsthand through everyday interactions, shared spaces, and local narratives.
